Healthful Family Nudism - Calabogie, Ontario, Canada

Drinking Water

Please bring your own drinking water and use lake water for just cooking and cleaning. We have a small quantity of bottled water available at a nominal cost. Bottled water can be purchased in Calabogie and a coin-operated fill-your-own spring water outlet is just a short drive away

Garbage

We have no garbage dump and no varmint problem as a result. We ask that you please take your refuse and recyclables away with you when you leave.

Sauna

The sauna is small and cozy and tucked down into a hollow close to the lake for a quick refreshing plunge.

Our Lake

Our 70-acre lake warms up early in Spring and stays comfortable well into Fall. Fishing is encouraged. An Ontario fishing license is required. Canoes and boats are welcome. No soap or shampoo, gas engines (electric motors are okay) or foreign live bait please.

Camping

Yes camping is rough. There is no electricity, no sewerage and only rudimentary running water - but you camp beneath Oaks and White Pines, by a pristine lake, and listen to the Loons call to each other in the night. What could be more natural than that?

Accommodations

We’re sorry but we have no accommodations to rent.  Visitors must provide their own tents or small trailers (under 20 feet).

The “Facilities” - (Did we mention it’s “rough”?)

Since it's arguably the most frequently visited spot in camp we use the walls of our “Composting, Gravity-powered Pine Powder Rooms” as our bulletin board. There are sinks and hot showers too. All-in-all, it’s as comfy as can be.

We fitted the cubicles with “Separett” urine-separating inserts. Developed in Sweden - a regular hot-bed of composting technology - the inserts divert urine into a septic bed thereby reducing waste volume by 85% and virtually eliminating “latrine odors.” We also have a “Pee-only” flush toilet at the Loo and another near  the lake.
